One firm for OSHA and DOT
Most consultants cover one regulatory domain. Betts Risk Group covers both, from driver qualification files to written safety programs to a director-level seat at your table. Scope is set on a discovery call and confirmed in writing before any work begins.
What this covers
Start here: the compliance assessment
The standard entry engagement for a new client. An on-site walkthrough, a records and written program review, a regulatory exposure summary, and a written priority roadmap delivered within five business days. It tells you where you stand before you commit to anything ongoing.

Remote fleet compliance
Driver qualification files, vehicle files, and camera event review, managed remotely by a compliance professional under authorized access to your systems. Files are audit-ready when a compliance review lands, not scrambled together after the notice arrives.
DQF management covers ongoing Part 391 file administration: expirations, MVR and Clearinghouse queries, deficiency tracking, and a monthly report. Vehicle compliance management covers vehicle files, registration and inspection tracking, and DVIR exception monitoring. Camera event monitoring reviews triggered events in your existing platform under authorized access. Managed camera coaching adds coaching assignment, completion tracking, and repeat behavior escalation.
These services carry no geographic limit. Operations anywhere in the country get the same administration. Coverage scales as the fleet does, from a handful of drivers to hundreds.

Site safety observation and reporting
A safety professional walks your site on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedule, or on demand when something specific needs eyes on it. Every visit produces documented findings, photographs where authorized, ranked priorities, and a written report within one business day.
Over time the reports become a documented record of field conditions, which is exactly what insurance carriers, prequalification platforms, and defense counsel ask for. This is point-in-time observation with documentation, not safety management or continuous supervision. If your operation needs someone owning the program rather than observing the site, that work is below.
Safety management and fractional leadership
Four levels of ongoing engagement, each with defined service days and deliverables, scoped to your operation in a written proposal.
Remote Safety Management. Incident report review, corrective action tracking, supervisor consultation, one management meeting, and a monthly management report. Safety management without the site days. Built for operations that have field supervision handled and need the management layer run properly.
Site Safety Support. Regular on-site service days plus a dedicated administration and reporting day, routine consultation and follow-up, and a monthly operational report. The entry retainer for operations that need field presence with the reporting handled behind it.
Fractional Safety Manager. On-site days plus management and program days. Program implementation, corrective action oversight, management meetings, trend review, and monthly reporting. This is the level where the safety program stops depending on you to run it.
Fractional Safety Director. Executive safety leadership at your table. On-site days plus leadership, strategy, program, and administration work: executive guidance, KPI reporting, regulatory strategy, and program oversight. Compare that against the fully loaded cost of a safety director hire.
Mock audits and audit readiness
A simulated FMCSA compliance review conducted against the actual audit factors and violation severity structure, with findings rated the way an auditor would rate them and a written corrective action plan. A records checklist tells you what is missing; a simulated compliance review tells you what it would cost you.
It is a preparation service, not an FMCSA proceeding, and carries no rating outcome guarantee.
On-site training
Confined space, rigging, forklift, CPR and first aid, defensive driving, and fall protection, taught at your site by a certified instructor. Every session produces attendance records, certification cards where applicable, and documentation you can produce on demand. Retainer clients receive priority scheduling.
Regulatory filings
MCS-150 biennial updates, UCR annual registration, Form 2290 heavy vehicle use tax, and IFTA quarterly filings, prepared and submitted on your behalf. Government fees are passed through at cost with no markup. Missed biennial updates carry deactivation and civil penalty exposure, which is why this service exists.
Written programs and prequalification
Written safety program development built to the standard an auditor applies rather than the standard a binder salesman applies. Plus management of ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce, and similar prequalification platforms: questionnaire upkeep, document maintenance, program uploads, and grade monitoring. Platform subscription fees remain yours.
Loss control and insurance
Loss run and EMR analysis, insurance renewal preparation, return-to-work program builds, and quarterly loss monitoring, scoped against your policy years, claim history, and carrier relationships.

Compliance software
The BRG platform covers inspections, incidents, driver files, training records, chemical inventories, and the rest of the compliance paper trail in one system. Offered standalone or alongside any engagement above.
Investigations and specialty work
Licensed investigative work for incidents, complaints, and internal matters that need a documented, impartial process. Incident investigation support, regulatory response, and specialty administrative work are scoped per engagement. Investigative services are provided by Betts Risk Group LLC, Florida Private Investigative Agency License A 3500205.

Either. Some clients have no safety function at all and need one built. Others have a capable manager who needs senior backup on regulatory questions and audit exposure. We scope to the gap that actually exists.
It changes which rules apply, not whether we can help. DOT and FMCSA work is a primary practice area, and non CDL operations frequently still carry DOT obligations that get missed. That is one of the first things we check.
Thirty minutes. We ask what your operation looks like, where you have been cited or nearly cited, what your insurance carrier has asked for, and what is keeping you up at night. You leave with a straight read on your exposure whether or not you hire us.
No.
